Job Listings at Blindline

Blindline, a free New York statewide information/referral service, is looking to recruit volunteers to become information specialists and researchers. These positions are generally held by blind and visually impaired individuals with an interest in finding paid employment in a call center setting.

This project provides maximum accessibility for its operators, researchers and administrators. Blindline is a wonderful on the job training opportunity.

Duties Include:

  • Conducting internet research
  • Data entry
  • Making cold calls as outreach to organizations and businesses
  • Providing customer service to callers by responding to their inquiries and locating information on the Blindline database.

Requirements

  • Must type a minimum of 20 words per minute
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Word, Internet Explorer, and adaptive technology (Jaws and/or Zoomtext).
  • Must possess basic phone skills.
